Shivering, soaked
darkness cloaks
Thunder quaking
cold limbs aching
Thighs pressed tight
storm clouds bright
Lightning flashes
clings to lashes
Plastered hair
electric air
Slick skin drips
pale blue lips
Tongue on teeth
bitten cheek
Wind blown words
unheard

Dancer by training, teacher by trade, writer on a whim. Erika is the librarian at Rogers PS in Newmarket. Her poetry has won local writing contests and been published in various periodicals such as Rice Paper and the Last Stanza. She is working on a chapbook of her poetry as well as a collection of flash fiction.
