David Irvine of The Gnarled Branch has been a freelance illustrator and fine artist since graduating from Sheridan college in Brampton back in 1991

He revolves his work  around his various styles of painting as well as upcycling. From refinishing and painting salvaged wooden furniture , making ornate hand painted ornaments using burnt out light bulbs to even converting discarded vinyl records into  contemporary pop art, David sees potential in unwanted items and transforms them into desired pieces of art.

David's work varies from eye catching pop art to dark and brooding mixed media pieces.
